Are you passionate about learning how to eat pure?
Do you want simple recipes that will help you to incorporate whole, natural, colorful foods into your meals?
Are you ready to have an easy way to add cancer-kicking vitamins and minerals, phytochemicals, heart-healthy fats and oils, fiber, and age-reversing antioxidants to your daily diet?
If you answered yes to any of the above three questions, then I have a perfect cookbook for you.
According to Hallie Klecker, author of The Pure Kitchen and Daily Bites Blog, this cookbook is jam-packed with:
- Simple ways to successfully transition to a whole foods diet
- A guide to stocking the pure kitchen
- Lessons in label-reading and easily avoiding gluten and dairy
- Tips for menu planning, shopping, and charming the palates of picky eaters
- 100 scrumptious recipes free of gluten, dairy, and refined sugar
I have to tell you that, although I only have had this book for a few weeks, it already has the look of a well-loved cooking tool. It has fingerprints and smudges on it and post-it notes hanging out from the sides for dishes that I have already made and then for the ones that I will be making soon.
I have tried quite a few of these recipes already. Each one has really been amazing and just full of whole natural foods.
And all of the baking recipes are loaded with whole grains instead of just starchy flours…just how I like them. It is exactly how I do my baking, so this book fits seamlessly into my kitchen.
Recently, I made the Apple Snack Cakes with Oatmeal Topping. These were devoured promptly. The kids loved them (as did my husband and I). They were a great healthy start to the day and I had to restrain the boys from eating too many at one sitting.
I also whipped up the Pumpkin Oatmeal Breakfast Clusters. I made them to bring as a snack for a family outing we took a couple of weeks ago. I figured a few would get eaten on the trek and then we would be able to save the rest for part of our breakfasts during the week.
Apparently I underestimated how much my family would like them. They were almost gone before we even pulled the car back into the driveway on that first day.
There was no way I could complain though. These babies are loaded with the good stuff: oats, raisins, walnuts, flax meal, and pumpkin puree, just to name a few ingredients.

This would be a great book for my family because we found out a year ago that we are all gluten and casein intolerant after over a decade of all five of us experiencing different life altering symptoms including a heart condition, severe skin rashes, intense headaches, and neurological dysfunction which all seem to either have completely resolved or become less debilitating since giving up gluten and casein.
At the end of July this year, because of my health issues, I needed to switch to a mostly vegan diet while still trying to make food that my family would eat.
